Collezione Antoniazzi, Museo dei Carabinieri Reali

In 1930 the veterinary captain Guido Antoniazzi started a first collection of memorabilia referring to the Royal Carabinieri, which constituted the original nucleus of a significant collection, an initiative later accepted by his son Carlo who, in order to find a suitable location for the possessed, decided to expand the family residence. A passion and a spiritual and material heritage inherited from his nephew Guido, who has perpetuated the family tradition by integrating the collection with relevant acquisitions, overseeing the reorganization of the entire collection and allowing it to rise to the dignity of permanent exhibition. Thus was born the Royal Carabinieri Museum, now housed in a portion of Villa Rossi, a nineteenth-century building immersed in the green hills of Conegliano, declared a Unesco World Heritage Site. The exhibition path of 60 square meters. crosses the Sala delle daghe until you reach the Sala dei muskets: uniforms and headdresses, weapons, relics, documents, medals and various iconographic material narrate, through individual itineraries of sacrifice and value, the History of the Royal Carabinieri, from the establishment of the in 1814 - retracing the Risorgimento campaigns, the colonial adventure, the Great War, the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy and the Second World War - up to the birth of the Italian Republic.
